Parts Peculiar is pleased to present Hearken To Me! A group show about what it means to Pay Attention.

This ambitious curation brings together the work of 35 individual artists as they explore their relationship with Attention in an age of digital and social media- disinformation, manipulation and ultimately a reckoning with Attention as Capital.

Works across several mediums including painting, metalwork, sculpture, ceramic, paper, textile and perfume examine themes of identity, participation, surrender and transformation. Spells curated. Curses shattered. And, an ultimate return to our humanity and the natural world which is ours- only to be recognized and claimed.

Founded in 2024 by Ailee John as both curatorial project and third space, Parts Peculiar remains focused on the artistic experience of the Outsider as both emerging artist and young collector. Parts Peculiar's avant-garde curatorial expression aims to challenge the status quo traditionally present in artistic spaces of privilege by showcasing artists of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, credentials, and mediums.

The title for this exhibition was chosen as a command for the viewer to remember themselves. To devote attention to the artworks as each of the artists has. To hearken, meander, awaken to the details. Embrace the nostalgia of memory and ultimately return to self. After all, Attention is Capital. We must invest wisely.
